Abstract

Our experimental studies with the results achieved with the ammonium treatment in swine wastewater by partial nitrification/anammox with the use of activated sludge; operating regime comply cycle 3 minute/15 minute break, at 0.22 kgN-NH4/m3.day load, leads to the following remarks: Performance of N-NH4 treatment decreased from 75.4% to 65.7% when the ratio of waste water input HCO3-/N-NH4 decreased from 1.5 to 0.9. The model operates well in HCO3-/N-NH4 ratio ≥ 1.1. There are links between processor performance and efficiency of N-NH4 HCO3- consumption reliability coefficient (R2) is the highest 0.775. So, we can measure consumption of bicarbonate to predict the effect of ammonium treatment.
